Hundreds of camel rides, home runs and falafels. Thousands of moon bounces, archaeological digs and smiles.

These were just some of the countless ways Boston-area Jewish families celebrated Israel’s 6oth last Sunday.

CJP worked with partnering organizations to transform Gann Academy in Waltham into a mini-Israel, and more than 3,000 kids, parents and grandparents responded, enjoying everything from pony rides, exhibits and live music to JCC Mini-Maccabi sports games, a “mock” Israeli supermarket and arts and crafts. All designed to excite, engage, entertain and educate.

Teens also had plenty to keep them busy – including soccer games, a Jewish hip-hop performance, and a popular sports clinic run JCC Maccabi Boston athletes.

CJP thanks all the people who worked to hard to make NECI such a success: Chairs Amy Hearne and Dorie Alexander Mufson, the sponsors, volunteers and professionals.
